Yvonne
Ebbers
"Speaking of the blues…"
Dutch guitarist Yvonne Ebbers (Nijmegen, 1976) is a relative
newcomer on the the Dutch music scene. Last year she graduated
at the Tilburg Rock Academy - in the years before she played
with musical partner Liesbeth in a group bearing the latter's
name. LIESBETH was a promising, innovative young band and seemed
ready to storm the Dutch charts. However, very personal reasons
forced Yvonne to quit the quartet before it broke out of its
provincial shell - to capture well-deserved national attention.
JP watched Yvonne perform with LIESBETH on a trip to the south
of Holland (in the spring of 2005). And was amazed at the fluent,
authentic and natural ease of her guitar playing. In
June of 2007 he invited her for a try -out session in Amsterdam.
It was soon followed by more - and equally successful - (duo)
performances. All characterized by their adventurous spirit and
theatrical generosity. Among her greatest influences you'll find
both Robert Johnson, and Lowell George. Speaking of the blues…
