Arnoud van den Berg

During the 2011/2012 "Speak Diary" tour JP will be accompanied by female guitar player Yvonne Ebbers and double bass player Arnoud van den Berg. The cooperation with Arnoud is not totally new, since he and JP were already involved in a project called Wimpie & The Domino’s, a few years ago, in 2007.

After trying the acoustic guitar first, Arnoud (1971) started playing the electric bass guitar at the age of ten, inspired by Beatle Paul McCartney. Ten years later he discovered the contrabass, which he has been playing ever since. Later Arnoud studied jazz music in the Netherlands, untill he started touring in 1997. As a result he has played all over Europe, but also elsewhere in the world, in countries like China, Iceland, Canada and South-Korea. Everywere people enjoyed his dedicated, allround musicianship.

Recently Arnoud has been very active in the Dutch Gypsy Jazz scene. He played a.o. with gypsy legend Jimmy Rosenberg and his younger brother Nomy Rosenberg, but also with British Robin Nolan, just to name a few.
